Happy Birthday. Think I'll make a batch of these this weekend to celebrate with you. Now, in lieu of the Chairman, a Bush chocolate? (might polarize with those red berries).
Pope Benedict? (too white and probably won't melt). Three bears? (right color, iffy texture, politically correct. But if they yield more than 1/3c., can I leave one child behind?).
The batter is devine cant wait for the final product - must admit - had no chocolate - so used raisins and 2 teaspons of cinnamon - it's taking all of my will power not to eat the dough.
I'll tell you how they finish.

YUM! I made these tonight, used raisins cause my cranberries ran away...or I ate them...who can say? Anyways very delicious cookie. I used cocoa powder also because I'm a rebel and they still turned out great! Thanks for sharing the recipe!
I'll say it for public consumption -
Let a thousand flours bloom.

Happy birthday to you!
These sound so good - enough to rival "my" favorit chocolate chip oatmeal cookie recipe.

Alisa, there is no way that chocolate chip cookies can compare with the volume of chocolate in these cookies!
Marianne - it all depends I guess on what you find palatable. I think Mao is more acceptable than Bush! (and something tells me you do too...)

I can attest to the cookie dough episode that Annie denies, as I found the empty bowl under her bed.
You've always been "Golden" to me, but I have to admit that the gold has been polished with the arrival of Kieran.
