I met former White House Pastry Chef Roland Meisner tonight. He said that when Ms. Martha visited the White House, she couldn't resist trying to tell him how to improve his gingerbread houses.
Meisner stopped her when she wanted to put pins in them to hold them together -- Quel horreur! They didn't see eye to eye after that.
He said "Martha and I, we are not going to be having dinner together."

I am looking for the recipe for the White House carrot cake. I think the recipe was by Roland Mesner for Bill Clinton. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

The carrot cake recipe is located in Roland's, "Basic to Beautiful Cakes." I saw him do a demonstration last night, and he's wonderful! I'd give you the recipe, but I think you'd benefit from buying the book.
