Oh yes it does! (Though it mostly goes along the lines of "Salmon, salmon and more salmon"!) Oregon is rightly proud of its many varieties of berries - my brother gave us some huckleberry jam which I finished earlier this year and now I'm working on his marioberry jam. No relation to Washington DC, of course...
I wondered about that marioberry jam. It sounded like the kind of joke you might hear in the District, where food always takes a back seat to food. Funny that it's just a coincidence.
Sounds good. I never thought of the Pacific Northwest as having its own cuisine.
